MISSION: To introduce a consistent, professional level of African dancing and drumming to Russia. To introduce dundun dance in Russia for the first time. To unify the African drum and dance movement in Moscow. For the first time in Russia, a special festival with masters recognized internationally (Europe – USA - Africa) will visit Moscow for a full weekend of classes and workshops, with music, dance, and dundun dance (FOR THE FIRST TIME IN RUSSIA!!!!). A long weekend immersed in African drum and dance. Cannot be missed!!! WHEN? Saturday and Sunday, September 15-16, from 12 to 7PM; WHERE? 2-Ya Zvenigorodskaya Ulitsa, 12, стр.6, Moskva Here it is friends! After much waiting, we can finally announce it: there will be a great conference of African music and dance in Moscow. We decided to follow on what we wrote, so we bring the masters from Europe. You will learn djembe at a high level of instruction: from beginners, who want to feel and receive the right structure, to advanced students who want to enlarge their repertoire or really improve on their technique. This is, by far, the best African music event so far in Russia. We say this as our faculty is recognized and experienced internationally, teaching at the best schools and festivals of African dance in Europe. Also, we will be INTRODUCING DUN DUN DANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN RUSSIA! We invite everybody, all African enthusiasts, to join us the weekend of September 15-16 for full days of classes. PROFESSIONAL Audio/video recording and publicity (sharing on VK, Facebook, etc. is NOT considered publicity) can be discussed. Volunteer work welcome. LEVELS Overall, there are 2 levels, generally speaking: Level 1 and Level 2 (Apprentice / Practitioner) Everybody is welcome to join the beginner level, after which, we select the intermediate level. More advanced students are welcome to join level 2, although this will be decided by the teachers. Below, see level descriptors: Level 1: 6 months to 1 year of dance experience, African dance or otherwise; Level 2: from 1 or more years of dance experience - not necessarily African dance - all the way to professional dancers who want to really learn proper technique from international masters. FAQ Where and when is the festival? The festival will take place in the center of Moscow and will take place on September 15 and 16 weekend), from the morning until afternoon. What happens at the festival? The festival is for all people seriously interested in African drumming and dancing in a way that is not fused with other music, but in its traditional form. For this, we bring to Russia the best teaching faculty to date. Do I need a drum? While there are drums available for rent at 100rub per class, we prefer if you can bring your own, as we do not have an infinite quantity. What should I wear? Wear colorful and comfortable clothes for dancing and drumming, such as gym pants, lapas, tank tops, etc. I do not know what my level is: where should I go? You should look at the level descriptors above. When in class, you might be moved to a higher or lower level at the discretion of the teachers. What language are classes in? The classes are in drumming language!! Do not worry if you do not speak French or English, as our teachers have international experience and have taught people from all over the world. Will there be a final performance or concert? We are in the process of arranging that, and details will follow. MORE EXPERIENCED DRUMMERS MIGHT BE ABLE TO JOIN IN ACCOMPANYING THE DANCE CLASSES, ACCORDING TO THEIR LEVEL. How to register for classes:
